Cheers to YOU this Valentine’s Day

It’s Valentine’s day, and that can mean many different things to many different people.

Depending on your situation in life, it can be a time to celebrate, or simply a day like any other. After years of being steadfastly single, I’ll admit that I haven’t always had the fondest feelings towards February 14th. It has also always been that much weirder for me, since it’s my dad’s birthday and people just keep trying to romance it up.  But this year, I’m going to change my perspective.

It’s already been somewhat of a rough year, this 2017 of ours. Political strife, risen tensions, revelation of biases and negative sentiments towards many different groups of people; we’ve been flooded with angst and unhappiness, and this year isn’t even 2 months old yet. It’s time we focused on the positives in life, and what’s more positive than love?

So on this Valentine’s day of 2017, I’m going to take a positive stance, to remind myself, and all you lovely readers, that deep down, this is a day about love, all kinds of love, and that’s worth celebrating.

So whether you’re in a new relationship, an established one, or are single yet lucky enough to be surrounded by friends and family that love you, happy Valentine’s day to you all!  However you celebrate this day, or even if you choose not to, remember that love really is all around us, if you’re just open enough to see it, receive it, and hopefully return it as well.

Love for one and all? That’s something I am definitely down to celebrate.  And what better way to celebrate love, than with a lovely cocktail?

Our friends from Two Oceans have sent us this delicious cocktail recipe, perfect to toast with your lover, your friends, your family or whoever you happen to be celebrating Valentine’s Day with.

Love is in the air

To a flute glass, add:

1/2 oz triple sec

2 parts Two Oceans Moscato

1 part club soda

Garnish with raspberries

Tastes as good as it looks!


And if you’re more into sipping your wine straight, you’ll love Two Oceans’ Moscato. With apricot and peach nectar aromas and a sweet aftertaste of ripe pears, this lovely white wine can be sipped on its own or with a great meal.
