CAAMP Take Over The Danforth Music Hall

Exactly one year after a sold-out show at The Horseshoe Tavern, folk trio Caamp returned to Toronto to a sold-out Danforth Music Hall on December 3, playing to over 1000 more people. Their By & By Tour, which wraps up with three nights in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio, has seen sell outs in almost every city across North America. With that, the Caamp crew carried their feel good, homey energy to Toronto for a lovely fall evening of music.

Throughout the set, the band created many sounds that aren’t in any recordings which was a nice touch. They extended outros, rearranged bridges, and added instrumental breaks that went deep into their sound and connection to the music and to each other. The stage was full of smiles and laughter, which extended out into the crowd.

The band got the fans moving around early on with high tempo tunes Just Wonderin, and Vagabond, before dipping into quieter songs like Books, and Penny, Heads Up. Regardless of the song, the love and energy coming off the stage was always so bright that it was hard for people to stand still.

Caamp finishes off their three-month tour at the end of December and has already released dates for what is sure to be another highly successful headline tour in March and April of 2020. They’ll also be joining The Lumineers in June. At this rate, these guys are showing no signs of slowing down and are making the road their home.
