Beauty Babe Lounge – Toronto’s newest lash and brow bar

Ladies of Toronto, there’s a new beauty bar. It’s the Beauty Babe Lounge, and you’ve got to go.

Located in the heart of Midtown, Beauty Babe Lounge opened at the end of 2016. With years of beauty industry experience under her belt, owner Wendy Huynh’s mission is not to change a woman’s natural beauty, but simply to enhance in. And that’s exactly what she does at Beauty Babe Lounge.

Targeting busy babes looking to cut down their beauty routines, Wendy focuses on two key areas: lashes and brows. For the ladies that love their lashes, Wendy and her team offer a full menu of lash extension options, from the clean and glossy classic sets (1 lash per natural lash) to VavaVOOM volume sets (2 to 3 lashes per natural lash). For brows, everything from shaping to tinting is on the menu: whatever it takes to get gals looking and feeling their best with the least amount of effort.

I got the chance to check out the lounge to get a set of lashes from Wendy herself. In chatting with the petite aesthetics expert, I learned about her as well as her new shop. Former a Makeup Artist, Wendy was always trying different beauty treatments, discovering eyelash extensions back in 2004. Impressed by the idea of having lush lashes without curling, applying numerous coats of mascara or wearing a strip, she tried them out for herself. Unfortunately, between sky high prices, improper application, and poor retention, she continually found herself disappointed with every place in the city. She decided to take matters into her own hands…literally that is.

Wendy trained with Xtreme Lashes, Longme in LA, and Eyelash Excellence from the UK, becoming a certified lash expert herself. Her goal? “To offer this service properly and hopefully help fix some of the horrible work that was done on me.” And that’s exactly what she did. For 5 years Wendy worked at one of Toronto’s top lash and beauty bars, before deciding to branch out on her own. With that, the Beauty Babe Lounge was born.

I came in to try out Wendy’s lash extension service for myself. Wendy was kind, welcoming and ever so charming. We bonded over everything from travel, the struggles and successes of being your own boss, and the challenge of being a new mom as well as an entrepreneur (a supportive partner is key!) Thanks to our friendly banter I found the time it took for my lash application just flew by. And once she handed me the mirror to see the results, they were, of course, fabulous.

I have nothing but respect a woman whose shaped her entire around making other women’s lives easier while making them feel better about themselves at the same time. And that’s what Wendy does at her shop. In her own words, “My goal for my client is to keep everyone guessing if her lashes are truly hers. I want my clients to feel like the best version of themselves, looking pretty and polished when they leave with very little maintenance to complement their busy lifestyle.”

So if you’re looking for a local place in the city to get that extra bit of polish to your look, support a local lady owned business and check out Beauty Babe Lounge today.
