Ask your #WCW with Veronica

This week we are crushing on Veronica!

The music bug bit Veronica at a very young age.  The Toronto native began her music career while in her teens, with her music videos featured on The Family Channel.  She also earned the #1 spot on the Indie Top 100 Internet Radio Chart with over 9,500 spins in 6 weeks. No stranger to the stage, Veronica also headlined the Family Channel’s sold-out ‘Big Ticket Summer’ at Molson Amphitheatre and performed the national anthem at The Rogers Centre during an Argonauts game.

By the age of 18 Veronica had released several singles including “Incompatible”“Busted”, and “Walking On Clouds” (featuring Kardinal Offishall), all of which were heavily featured on The Family Channel and Bell Media’s Juicebox.  Her latest, R&B/Electropop single “Money” is a true banger, Veronica style.

Check out the video for her song “Money” below.

If you liked what you heard, then you’re going to love this; there’s more music where that came from! Veronica has released her debut album V1 Mixtape (via iTunes & Spotify). Produced by 3 Stripe (Shaun Frank, Just Chase, SOS, Neverest, The Stereos, Jerzee, We The Future) and Krayysh (Shaun Frank, OWSLA, Kill The Zo) V1 Mixtape shows Veronica blending her pop roots with various genres, making her music even more accessible and showing us how far she’s come not only as an artist but a songwriter as well.

From pop princess to rising star, Veronica is pretty damn crushable. Get to crushing below!

What is the best date you’ve ever been on?

I’m really into surprises. The ‘not-knowing’ factor is such an unreal feeling! One of the best dates I’ve been on was one of the biggest surprises… My guy brought me downtown and told me he was taking me to a cute patio for dinner (which is also another fav of mine). As we were driving downtown he stopped our cab in front of a Pizza Pizza and a burrito place down the street from the ACC. He told me, “So you have to choose a place to eat…” I looked at him obviously confused and I could tell from his grin there was something much bigger about to happen. He said, “But we have to eat quickly if we’re going to make it on time…” and showed me tickets to The Weeknd concert at the ACC with one of my favorites opening, Rae Sremmurd! Definitely one of the best nights I’ve ever had.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

I have a lot of deal breakers, or “red flags” as I call them. It’s pretty much all I write about in my music, but the instant deal breaker for me is a guy with zero respect (for anything.) really bugs me!

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

Communication is key…feels like it’s something everyone says but it’s TRUE! Talking about your feelings and opening up creates trust which is the foundation relationships are built on!

What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?

Probably sounds typical being a musician but I’ve written songs about guys I’ve liked in the past and even played it to them (not telling them it’s about them) just to see if they get what it’s about. Honestly, never really worked. Since I’ve put more music out I’ve got a couple messages from exes asking if it’s about them!
