What is your ideal first date?

It seems like the standard advice for first daters these days is to do something unique, something that isn’t the old dinner and a movie. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! Unless you’re me. And the three things you love most in the world are good conversation, good food and a good movie. So truly ye olde classic dinner and a movie is a perfect way to test the waters of compatibility in all the areas that are most important to me.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

Thoughtlessness, dishonesty and unkindness.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

Everyone is allowed to have personal boundaries. Even if it goes against what others might consider “the norm”. Your relationship and your needs are personal to you, and you shouldn’t compare your own needs with anyone else’s.

Also, communication is key. Be honest and open with your partner, trust them, speak up as soon as you can and don’t let things fester. And listen. Communication is a two-way street that way. You have to be able to express yourself, true, but also listen and really hear what the other person is saying as well.

Describe your love life in one word

How do you keep the romance alive in your relationship?

We always try to have adventures together, to discover new places and make time for just us. Also, we really like movies, so a classic movie night is the best!
