Ask your #MCM with Zachary Lucky

This week our #mancrushmonday is country singer Zachary Lucky.

A native of Saskatoon, Zachary grew up with traditional country music in his blood; his grandfather, Smiling Johnny Lucky, was a Canadian country pioneer whose career spanned a half-century. Zachary focused his efforts on rock music during his teens, playing in a few bands in his tempestuous youth. But country called him back, and as he entered his twenties he began releasing a series of EPs displaying writing and performing skills far beyond his years. That groundwork culminated with his 2010 full-length debut, Come And Gone, and its 2012 follow-up, Saskatchewan, which firmly established Lucky on the national scene and set stage for the critically acclaimed The Ballad Of Losing You in 2013. Check out his single “Lost my way (now and then)” below:

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

When I was younger, someone I looked up told me to never settle – that love isn’t a place to settle for second best – and that if you had to ask whether it was true love, it probably isn’t.

What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?

Liked all their selfies on instagram, while sitting across the table from her, at a music festival.  She fell for it.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

Enjoy being single. Love yourself first and foremost, and other love will follow.

Describe your love life in one word.

How do you keep the romance alive in your relationship?

The small things. Holding hands. Hugs.  The moments in-between everything else.
