Ask your #MCM with Philip Ricio

This week we are crushing on actor Philip Riccio!
Philip Riccio is a celebrated Canadian actor with multiple Gemini awards under his belt and a theatre company under his name. Philip is one of the founders of the Company Theatre, along with fellow actor Allan Hawco. A theatre company with actors at helm also keeps actors close to its heart. The Compay Theatre’s mission is to collaborate with Canadian and international artists to create emotionally moving theatrical experiences that explore, boldly and unflinchingly, the human conditionWorking with the highest caliber of performers, The Company encourages actors to fully embrace these instincts on stage, allowing the story to unfold differently every time it is told, and inviting audiences to bear witness to a living breathing reflection of themselves.
Along with theatre company founder, Philip is also of course and actor himself, as well as a director. He’s won multiple awards for his work, including three Gemini Award nominations for his performance in Rent-a-Goalie, as well as multiple Dora Award nominations.
Handsome, talented and passionate, we deem Philip to be extremely crushworthy!

What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?

Eyes. Feels a bit obvious but it’s the truth. They truly are the window to the soul.

What is your definition of romance?

Acceptance and love. I don’t think there’s any greater romantic gesture than seeing someone for who they truly are and loving them anyway.

What is your ideal first date/ what’s the best date you’ve ever been on?

Unbelievably the best date I ever had was on the patio of a Jack Astor’s looking over Dundas Square. It had nothing to do with their chicken fingers which are actually surprisingly good, but all to do with the person it was with.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

If they’re a Red Sox fan. I couldn’t handle it. They don’t necessarily have to be a Blue Jays fan, although that’s a plus, but if they cheer for the Red Sox, forget it. It’s over.

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

“Cherish them.” Not sure who said that to me but I still remember it. If you can cherish the person you’re with you can’t really go wrong. But easier said than done.
