Ask your #MCM with Kenn from Bucko and Toad

This week’s #mancrushmonday is Kenn from Country-pop duo Bucko & Toad !

Bucko & Toad are Kenn and Kelly Coutu, a couple both on and off the stage (can you guess who our #womancrush will be this week? *wink*).  The pair made it their mission t0 take an upbeat and fresh approach to country music, and what better place to start off than with their band name? They took their childhood nicknames: “Bucko” for Kenn and Kelly’s “Toad” to create a cute and quirky name that represented them and their music, and together they began the wild ride that is trying to make it in the music business.  Ken already had some experience in the industry, most notably as the front man for the rock band Armchair Cynics. After deciding that he had enough of the road life following the dissolution of the band,  Kenn realized he simply wanted to write country songs at home with the goal of having other artists record them. Though Kelly had never expressed musical aspirations of her own, when Kenn asked her to sing background harmonies on the demos he created, she jumped on board and things just clicked. Songs eventually led to gigs, a fan base soon followed and Bucko & Toad became an item in every sense of the word.

Take a listen to their new single “Summer Girl” below, then prepare to smile at Kenn’s adorable answers.

What is your definition of romance?

Living life with the one you love as if it’s your movie and everyone else are actors in it. Realizing that every day you’re given is a chance to never take that love for granted and to honor it with simple gestures like an “I love you” note on the fridge or a single picked wildflower placed on a car seat for the person you love to find.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

If you’re close minded I can’t even deal with it. Open-mindedness is one of the most important things

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

To get what you need out of your love… give the other person what they need.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

Love is cultivated. It is a garden that needs your attention. Water it and it will grow, neglect it and it will wither
