Ask your #MCM with Jason Blaine

Continuing with our country music crushes, our #mancrushmonday this week is Jason Blaine!

Hailing from Pembroke, Ontario, Jason now calls Nashville home. His career took off back in 2003 with the release of his first ever single “That’s what I do”.  In 2005 he released his first full length, independant album While We Were Waiting. The albums and the accolades started rolling in, and in 2012 Jason received CCMA nominations for Male Artist, Single of the Year,  and  Songwriter, & Producer for his album Life So Far (2011). His song”They don’t make em like that anymore”, a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather, won Single of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards, and the video hit No. 1 on CMT Canada. His next album, Everything I Love (2013) earned him a Producer of the Year nomination, as did his latest album Country Side (2015) at the CCMAs. In fact, the title single of that album (co-written by Deric Ruttan) earned Jason the Neilsen/BDS most played Canadian country song in 2015. His latest single “Dance with my daughter” has been pulling the heartstrings of country music fans all over the world. Watch the touching video below:

Not a dry eye in the house!

While Jason may be an incredible recording artist, he’s not one to hide in the studio – and his music translates perfectly to the stage, thanks to his charismatic stage presence (and that handsome country boy charm!) Taking his talents on the road, Jason has toured and played with some of the biggest names in country music, both north and south of the border, including Paul Brandt, Kevin Costner, Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood. His boots have hit the storied stages at festivals and award shows including Calgary Stampede, Burlington Sound of Music, Frenchman River Gospel Jamboree, Cavendish Beach Music Festival and the CCMA Award Shows. This summer, he’ll be playing the legendary Boots & Hearts music festival where fans will flock to Ontario to get their Jason Blaine fix.

With four top 5 singles, fourteen top 10 singles, three #1 videos, multiple SOCAN awards and a CCMA award, and  2.3 million YouTube views AND over 122,000 Twitter followers, it’s clear that industry and fans alike love Jason Blaine. With stats like that, we’re definitely down to call him crushworthy! Take a read of his views on romance below (and prepare to swoon!).

What is your definition of romance?

To me, romance is all about spontaneous adventure and excitement in big and/or small ways.

What’s would be your instant deal breaker?

A billion sexy Instagram selfies. ‘Cause if you like the way you look that much…you know how the song goes 🙂

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

The best romance advice I ever received, I read in a book called “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman. Basically, the secret to getting what you want in a relationship is giving what the other needs unconditionally and without giving to get.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

When it comes right down to it, it’s treating each other the way you would as if you were still in the earliest stages of dating. Never take each other’s heart for granted.

How do you keep the romance alive in your relationship?

I keep fresh flowers on the counter for my wife every week and I try to make each kiss count.
