This week our #MCM is David James!
David, an award winning country artist, chooses to live life by the motto “nothing worth having comes easy and opportunity looks a lot like hard work”. And does he ever work hard! A native of Winnipeg, David is gaining acclaim all over the country. His latest accomplishments include a debut performance at Boots and Hearts this past summer, releasing his EP Songs About A Girl, and receiving two 2016 Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Award™ nominations in the Rising Star and Recording Package of the Year categories. But that’s not all.
Continuing a year of many exciting moments, he also received his first (2016) 19th Annual Canadian Radio Music Award nomination for Best New Group or Solo Artist: Country. Showing no signs of slowing down, he was recently back in the studio, recording new music. James will release a new single, “What If I Don’t”, as well as hit the road opening shows for Chad Brownlee in early 2017.
Check out some tunes for yourself:
What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?
Eyes and smile for sure! I’m a firm believer that a smile can tell you a lot about someone.
What’s your instant deal breaker?
Drama! Bad things happen to everyone, but you have to learn to roll with the punches and let that stuff bounce off you. Life’s too short to be annoyed or upset all the time.
What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?
When I was 16 I called my local radio station to ask them to play my crush’s favorite song. I told her to tune in… and then they got her name wrong! Awkward, haha!
What is your ideal first date/what’s the best date you’ve ever been on?
I’m a fun guy, and I love the thrill of spontaneity. If I ask a girl out, I’ll always make the plans, but might throw a curveball in there just to let her personality shine through. Like laser tag or a petting zoo. Gosh I’m lame…
Describe your love life in one word
I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic, so I’ll call my love life ‘bold’ …and at the moment, nonexistent, haha!
Let’s see if we can help David with that last point, shall we? Keep up with him on social media, and through his website, all listed below!
