Ask your #MCM with Chris Gold

Our #mancrushmonday this week is Chris Gold.

An emerging singer/songwriter, Toronto-native Chris Gold broke into the music scene with his debut single ‘One Night Love.’  The futuristic pop track, catchy and intriguing, really showcases Chris’s signature vocal style. Artistic and creative from an early age, Gold attended Cardinal Carter Academy for The Arts, where he was able explore and develop a sound of his own, one that broke the mold of more structured traditional music. Combining creativity and intellectuality, fashion, art, technology and sociological perspectives all combine to help form the musical style that is his alone. It’s an exciting and innovative sound that is sure to win over industry and fans alike.  The single, “One Night Love” is the first taste we’re getting. About the song, Gold says:

“The way human interaction has significantly changed inspired me to write about the idea of new age love. I wanted to touch upon how love can be disposable in a world where one night stands have become so common while exploring human sexuality. The song is a question to lovers; whether or not their love can last beyond one night.”

Sexy right? Definitely an authority to be taken seriously in matters of love. Let’s read what he has to say, shall we?

What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?

The first thing I notice about a potential love interest is their eyes. The first glance builds mystery with one another, which makes that moment memorable. It brings you to wonder about the potential connection you can create. It’s conversation through your eyes.

What is your ideal first date?

My ideal first date would be to connect with someone through conversation about their past, their present and their future. I like knowing about what their goals are in life and the things they strive for. When I create a connection with a person I become more open. I enjoy ‘real talks’ over a drink or two. Being able to connect with someone mentally is so important.

What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?

It’s pretty embarrassing to say this but when I was a teen, I made a video of myself lip-syncing my love interests favourite songs. It was funny at the time and I thought it would be cute to do that for them. When you are interested in someone, you tend to do weird things. I definitely got their attention. (In a good way! ;P)

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

Find someone who fulfills you mentally, physically and emotionally. Sometimes people become lost and surround themselves with people who take them for granted. Everyone looks for love and companionship at one point in their lives. Don’t be with someone because you are afraid of being lonely. Get to know yourself and love yourself. Know your worth, know what you want in another person, and be open to those who are willing to benefit your life in a positive way. In the end, it will only bring you happiness.
