With their new single “One Day” hitting radio this month, the boys of Tiny Danza are ramping up for a busy year ahead, with new music and touring in the works. We caught up with their powerhouse lead singer, Andrew Cameron, to get a healthy dose of the humor the band is famous for and a glimpse into his heart of hearts!

What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?
A strong independent woman. Someone who can help me mix concrete and work the bellows. Also someone with a good sense of humor who understands a man only laughs on the inside.

Who would you want to have make the first move?
This question is confusing.. There is no move. There is only the  moment when a man holds a woman’s face a kisses her for what seems like eternity.
But seriously, I love when a woman makes the first move. I feel like it’s still generally a man’s responsibility to ask for the date and make the first move and pursue. It’s nice when I don’t have to do all that sometimes.

Who do you go to for dating advice?
I don’t take advice. A man’s mind is his own. Sometimes I’ll walk into the woods to clear my head. Sometimes I bathe naked in an ice cold mountain stream. The answers always come.

Really, I’ll listen to advice from any source but learning how to know what’s good from me is different. Learning about how women experience dating and the world in general has helped a lot.

Have you ever done something crazy to get a crush’s attention?
Once I built a small barn for her rescue animals. The roof was constructed from the pelts of the game I hunted over the winter. Those insulate best.

Back in first year college I dated a girl who lived pretty far away. I was in a breakdancing crew at the time and felt like she was on the fence about me so I showed up with my whole crew to a club she was at and we battled anyone who stepped in the circle. Pretty hilarious.
