Ask your #mancrushmonday with Cory Marquardt

A sweet smile, killer voice and that grabbable hair – up and and coming country singer Cory Marquardt has cornered the market on being crushworthy. So it should come as no surprise to you out there that he is this week’s #MCM!

As one of the most dynamic and interesting new country music talents, CoryMarquardt possesses a singing voice that is second to none, a songwriting talent as big as his size, and the swagger of a seasoned rock star. Along with performing at major festivals including the Kipawa Country Fest and The Truck Rodeo in Quebec, Marquardt  also opened for rock legend Brian Howe of Bad Company fame, and legends Blue Rodeo. We decided to pick this heartthrob’s brain about his dream date, and the craziest thing he’s ever done for love. Check out his answers below!

What is your ideal first date?

Dinner, concert, beers and a hotel party.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

If she doesn’t like animals…I’m out.

Have you ever done something crazy to get a crush’s attention?

I stuck up for a girl when I was in grade 12 who’s brother was having a house party. I was only 17 and never really got in that much trouble…outside of school. After seeing each other for about a month I made it clear I wasn’t one to really “fight” or be a “bad ass” I was more of a joker and goof ball. The party was couple of weeks before graduating high school and some unwanted guests wouldn’t leave and started causing trouble at the house I tried to help her get them out of her parents house which then lead to a five on one fight in the front yard – just me and them. Let’s just say they didn’t stay very long. It was my first street fight!. I stuck up for someone…and graduated with a headache and a girl by my side. Looking back now it seems crazy, as they were in college and one of them had a shovel!

I also once called a girl  and told her to get outside and look up in 30 seconds…I then buzzed her house with a Cessna 172, which was a plane I was flying with a friend of mine when I was 21. Her parents didnt like that too much as I wasnt more than 100ft over their house at 120 knots…Oops! She liked it though!

How do you feel about public displays of affection?

I’m totally open to it and don’t mind it. I’m an affectionate guy, I think if you’re with someone and they want to be with you than neither one should have a problem showing a little love in public…maybe a peck, hell even a sexy ‘I want you’ kiss.

Describe your love life in one word…

Fun.
