What are the best foods to eat before working out?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as everyone’s body is different. Some people prefer eating a full meal a couple of hours before their workout, and some people find that eating a small snack 30 – 60 minutes before working out feels better. In either case, I recommend staying away from fatty foods that will take a long time to digest. I mean, the last thing you want to be doing at the gym is belching up a steak sandwich! Instead, I suggest you focus on carbohydrates that are easy on the digestive system. Some good options include yogurt with granola, whole wheat toast with a tablespoon of almond butter, or steel cut oats with some sliced banana.
Each of these options will provide you with valuable nutrients and a steady stream of energy to help you get the most out of your time at the gym. Don’t be afraid to play around with your pre-workout nutrition to see what works best for you!
