Dearly Beloved is one of those Toronto bands that makes an impact on you, sonically and spiritually. I’ve been watching them for years now, as they graduate to bigger and better venues, clocking more km’s than a veteran truck driver as they cross oceans and continents, bringing their raucous sound to fans around the world.
An indie band in every aspect, Dearly Beloved broke a pattern of theirs with their most recent album, Admission; they let a producer in on their usually incredibly independant recording process. And not just any producer. It was Daniel Rey, whose references include The Ramones and the Misfits. The result? Well, take a listen for yourself:
