An Interview with Dear Rouge

We all know that darling Duo Dear Rouge have been a favorite of mine ever since I first heard their single “I heard I had” on the radio. I think that’s how I start every thing I ever write about them, but I’m a firm believer in telling the truth, so there you have it. Interesting and infectious at the same time, I knew that any band that could create cool music like that was going places. Now, I’m not saying I’m always right, but…yeah, I was right.

In the scant 3 years that the band has been active, they’ve already received major radio airplay, have toured with all manner of awesome bands and have even landed a coveted major label record deal for their incredible release Black to Gold (check out my review of the album here). A little while back I got the chance to sit down with front couple Drew and Danielle McTaggart to chat life, love, music and our most wonderful addictions. I have to say these two are the sweetest humans in the world, so the fact that they make music that I love AND took the time to sit down and indulge my fandom makes them two of my actual favorite people ever. Take a listen here and see what I mean:

From their adorable banter, their passion for the music they create and the patience and sense of humour they showed when we were interrupted by a random hotel staffer, it was a pleasure to interview Dear Rouge. If you’re braving the wilderness to head to the Wayhome Music Festival this weekend, be sure to check them out. Their amazing live performance will totally make you forget the fact that you won’t see the inside of a shower for days, trust me. See you there!
