Addicts and Angels: Paddle Royale for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto

It’s hard enough being a kid these days. Then when you think about how many children out there go through life without strong role models to guide them through life, you realize how much harder it can actually be. And that’s what makes the work of organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto all the more important.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto’s mission is to match at-risk youth with influential, supportive mentors. The impact of these mentor/mentee relationships is measurable and multilayered. Youth who particpate in this program grow up to be more community minded, hold more leadership positions and are more secure and confident than their counterparts. And the best part? Every dollar donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters yields around $20 in social return. It’s literally an investment in our youth, and our world.

This week Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto will be holding one of their engaging and innovative fundraising events, and we want you to know about it! Paddle Royale is an annual event hosted by this organization, and it will be celebrating its 6th year this Thursday, August 31st. Paddle Royale is organized by  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto Young Leaders, and will be hosted by Steam Whistle at their Brewery downtown. This ping pong tournament will be attended by hundreds of young professionals. All drinks are $5 all night long (including cocktails, wine and beer.) There will be Raffle prizes to be won, 3 guest DJs, surprises and more. In past years has raised well over $100,000 for Big Brothers and Sisters, and it’s easy to see why.

Check out the event information for Paddle Royale here, and please consider donating to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto today.
