Addicted’s Awards Season Style Guide 2015

It’s officially that time of year – that’s right, awards season is upon is. The red carpets have been rolled out and all of your favourite celebrities are stepping out in the finest designer gowns and jewels. With several award shows already behind us, such as the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, and SAG Awards, we’ve been able to decipher some of the red carpet trends for 2015.

At the Golden Globes we saw countless celebs donning bejeweled neutral toned dresses, statement jewellery pieces, and even a couple of trendy pant suits. So far it’s been a great season for fashion on the red carpet, and surely we won’t be disappointed when the 87th Academy Awards roll around. And although the celebs are draped in the fashion industry’s finest and most expensive clothing, there are certainly many options that the rest of us “everyday folk” can find to look just as fabulous.

That’s exactly why Addicted decided to put together a style guide for awards season that’s suitable for anyone’s budget. Now you can look just as good as your favourite actor at your next viewing party.

1. Kate Beckinsale

kate-beckinsale-golden-globesTo no one’s surprise, Kate Beckinsale showed up looking absolutely stunning at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony. Wearing a stunning taupe gown designed by Elie Saab, statement jewellery pieces by Lorraine Schwartz, and dark nails to contrast – Beckinsale’s look is one we can easily emulate.

It’s easy to copy Kate Beckinsale’s look, but in a way that’s suitable for every day. To copy her look, tie your hair up in a sleep high bun and sport these gorgeous slinky fringe earrings by GUESS ($27.50). Pair it with a bunch of layered bangles by ALEX AND ANI (singles range from $28-$64), for a bold, but classy look.

Lorde2. Lorde

Lorde is no stranger to taking risks, whether it be with her music or her fashion choices. But at this year’s Golden Globes the 18-year-old songbird stunned in this classic black pant suit. Although the look was minimalist, she made it trendy by wearing a custom made crop top by Narciso Rodriguez and diamonds by Neil Lane.

If you want to sport something similar to Lorde’s Golden Globes look, wear Titika Active Couture’s Preach Bra ($48), paired with this sleek black blazer ($248) and these black slacks ($148), both by Marciano.

AlanCummings_GoldenGlobes2015(1)3. Alan Cummings

Alan Cummings is no stranger to Hollywood, the seasoned actor has appeared in countless films and received many accolades for his roles over the years. In addition to his acting accomplishments, at this year’s Golden Globes, it wasn’t just his acting that was garnering praise, but his outfit, as well. Cummings was dressed to impress in a perfectly tailored beige Calvin Klein ensemble matched with a pair of kick-ass sneakers. The look was effortlessly cool and something that any man can pull off with just a couple simple items.

In order to achieve a look similar to Cummings, we recommend you try these slim tapered khaki’s by GUESS ($69.99). We also found these amazing fold down sneakers from Dr. Martens Kade ($125) to give your outfit a more urban influence.

JLO_GoldenGlobes20154. Jennifer Lopez

Last, but certainly not least, we have Jennifer Lopez – one celebrity who is no stranger to making bold fashion choices. We adored her red carpet look at this year’s Golden Globes as it was the perfect combination of old school glamour and modern sex appeal.

Copy J.Lo’s look by wearing this gorgeous Marciano drape dress ($75) in a bright tangerine, which is all the rage for spring. For a touch of glamour, try these gold tone deco fringe earrings from GUESS ($39.50). To finish off the look, try pairing the dress with these glam pointed toe pumps also by GUESS ($159).

Well, there you have it – Addicted’s ultimate style guide for awards season. So put on you high heels, swipe on some lipstick, and embellish in the celebrity lifestyle, but at a fraction of the cost. Looking great never felt so good, did it?
