Addicted to Love? – The Rules of PDA

So I have to admit first and foremost that I am not big on PDA (public displays of affection) both in doing and observing, but recently when taking public transit and seeing a couple pretty much make a baby in public I started asking around as to what the consensus was on PDA. Here is what we came up with.

The Do’s

Holding Hands – this pretty much goes without saying but holding hands while you walk in no way offends people, and going for a stroll with your other half or and evening together hand-in-hand is very sweet and thus falls under the do’s.

Light kissing – a hello kiss or goodbye even with a bit of passion is fine seemingly by all, when limited to it not turning into more, so kiss away, just end it before the 2 minute mark.

A little grab – ya I said it, touching a leg while sitting, a little pat on the butt, we think this is acceptable, but when a grab becomes a grop you have crossed the line.

The Don’t

Under the clothes – ok so really there isn’t much to be said about this other then, you don’t need to get in her bra or into his pants in public, it’s gross and rude and really falls under the category of, “Get A Room already”.

The extended make-out – you aren’t 16 and you have your own home or bedroom at least, and if you have some sort of voyeurism thing going on, we don’t want to be dragged into it please and thanks.

Any kind of sex – after my public transit eye rape, which lead me to write this let me just say GROSS. I, nor probably most of people on the bus want to see you handjobing your bf on the subway, it’s completely disgusting and surprise of all surprises, in public, in a space I can’t imiditly escape from it makes it a horrible act that should be punishable by the guilty party’s being held in a cell until they learn their lesson.

So there you have it folks, I never thought that I would have to write this but after having seen way to much this summer, I guess I just had to, and I’m not saying don’t have fun, I’m saying use good judgement as I would like to keep my lunch down and have my sight for years to come.
