Addicted Inspirations: RALPHY

This week we find ourselves inspired by singer/songwriter/performer extraordinaire RALPHY!

There must be something in the water ‘Down Under’ because we have another amazing Aussie making huge waves over in the US. After the success of her recent single release ‘LOVER’, the LA based independent pop sensation RALPHY is once again receiving an overwhelming response to her new EP ‘PEACE LOVER’.

This sexy, sultry songstress has become increasingly known for her amazing live performances and her ability to lift her audience into a beautiful space of love & freedom.

RALPHY is a proud advocate of equal rights, gay pride and of course this EP is all about highlighting the need for social accountability.

‘Love Remains’ is a definite standout on the EP. RALPHY has cleverly used shock tactic lyrics to drive home the extent in which our world has become desensitized to death and war.

We then have songs like ‘Lover’ + ‘Skin to Skin’ that bring an exciting change of pace as RALPHY lavishly celebrates sensuality, one love and sexual freedom. RALPHY’S message is simple yet powerful, ‘LOVE’.

‘PEACE LOVER’ available now on iTunes.

For using her voice to make music and help others, we find RALPHY incredibly inspirational. Get inspired with us below

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

It is strange but the pull to be a performer has always been part of my life, it seems to have always been a part of who I am, for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be on the stage. I started dancing at the age of 3, that led to acting singing and studying Performing Arts.   Which in turn helped me include one other passion that  is fashion,  I get to incorporate my love for style and creativity with fun costumes in my live stage shows. To date there is nothing more that I love than being on stage and doing my thing

What is your WHY? (The reason why you do the work you do)

I  am focused and love doing what I do because hopefully I make people happy through my music,  that they forget their day to day problems for a while and have  fun with tracks that want  to make people dance .  I do have a few tracks with a serious message to them,  a message of love peace and equality for all, this is something I am very passionate about as an artist. I feel the more people are singing and talking about compassion the sooner the world will be a better place.

What are the biggest challenges/setbacks you’ve had to face?

For me as an independent artist the biggest challenge is being completely self funded it can be so hard implementing ideas that are bubbling around in my brain into real projects when you don’t have the funds, but as a famous Australian once said ” Such Is Life” . So we just take one day at a time and keep going because I LOVE doing what I do, sometimes you end up with something very cool because you have to create and think outside the box.

If you had one wish to help make the world a better place, what would it be?

One Genie wish for me would be for people to be kinder to one another ie:  more patient, tolerant and acceptance of other peoples differences. If more people could do that the world would be a nicer place.

If you could pick one charitable organization to ask our readers to donate to or volunteer with, which would it be?

OMG  this is a  hard one, so many amazing and worthy charities .  I think people should try and find one they are passionate about, so for me I will say my friends organisation ‘Friend Movement’  Friend movement is a lifestyle brand and production company that heals the effects of bullying and that prevents bullying by offering products, events and services that celebrate friendship so empowering people to accept and be their true selves.

Friend Movement was  founded on July 1st 2012 by Ronnie Kroell and a team of talented artists, they do so many amazing things and I think it all starts in your community.  http://friendmovement.com
