Addicted Holiday Cocktail Series – Appleton Rum Sours

While the holiday season may TECHNICALLY be over, that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge your taste in a wonderful cocktail.  You may be feeling nostalgic for Christmas time with the family, or partying with reckless abandon for New Year’s eve.  You may be feeling a little jealous of all your friends who are jetting off to warm and far away places. Whenever these feelings start to creep up, mix yourself up a delicious Rum Sour with Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum.

A rum sour is one of those tasty, refreshing and suprisingly simple drinks that are easy to whip up and always a crowd pleaser, whether that crowd is a house full of party guests or an intimate gathering of two. Using Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum with its scents of brown sugar, honey and holiday spice with orange peel and vanilla highlights gives this drink a delicious finish.  It’s got a warm and spicey taste with that tarte sweetness that can satisfy your craving for a cozy night in, or make you feel like you’re sipping your drink on a beach with the warm summer breeze on your skin. Try out our tastey recipe below and see for yourself.

What you’ll need:

3 ounces of Appleton Estate

2 ounches of lime juice (I used fresh squeezed)

Finely ground sugar to taste (I used icing sugar)

Shaker with ice

2 glaces with ice garnished with lime wedges

Shake ice, rum, sugar and lime juice in shaker. Pour over ice in glaces. Drink and enjoy!
