Columbia Sportswear – not just for winter coats anymore

When you’re headed into the Costa Rican jungle on a music festival mission and a yoga retreat, you’re going to need something a bit tougher than your standard yoga wear. That’s why I’m so glad I rediscovered Columbia before my recent trip to Envision Festival and the Evoke Passion Project yoga retreat.

When you think of Columbia, multilayered and multicoloured winter coats are probably what come to mind. And while the brand is still creating amazing outerwear to keep Canadians warm, they’ve got a lot more in their arsenal than just cool snowboard jackets and cozy fleece pieces. From stylish and lightweight windbreakers and mid season jackets, comfortable yet fashionable clothing for indoor and outdoor athletic activities and even cool travel accessories, Columbia has truly branched out and coe a full service clothing line that can suit a multitude of needs for just about anyone.  This little windbreaker served me incredibly well on my travels and was great to throw on when the jungle nights turned to the chillier side.

Another favorite piece of mine was this fantastic infinity scarf that had a hidden pocket for small items, like your passport, cash, and anything else you wanted to keep nearby while travelling or trekking around the festival. I wore it as a long scarf, doubled up around my neck and even partially over my head when I wanted to get cozy for a nap on the bus or to protect my hair from rain and humidity.

I also loved the clothing that Columbia created for spring. Comfortable, cute and most of all durable, these pieces were great for camping and stretching myself into all sorts of weird shapes in yoga class. Check out the killer tank top and pants that became my yoga uniform on my past trip:

Open your mind and your wardrobe to Columbia today and let the adventure begin! Head on over to and see what Columbia means by #TestedTough.
