EDM shows to catch before end of summer

While the summer is wrapping up and the cool breeze is getting more noticeable, it’s still not too late to get your summer electronic music fix. If you’re a summer festival addict or someone who prefers only coming out at night, Toronto has a lot to offer in the last few weeks of the season. It’s time to get off Facebook and head outside to hear some incredible music, try out the scene, and seriously wear out those sandals you bought in May. Here are some of our suggestions in the city to hear some incredible EDM.

Corona SunSets on Hanlan’s Point (August 16) This festival is new to Canada, but it’s been hitting beaches in the UK, Spain, and Mexico this year. It’ll have two main stages which will be graced by Moby, Thievery Corporation, Cajmere, and Wolf + Lamb, to name a few. If you haven’t been to the Toronto Islands this summer, now is your chance. Watching the sun set on the entire city of Toronto to the sound of Moby playing live? You really can’t get much better than that. Get tickets: http://torontotickets.coronasunsets.com

Waterfront Beach Festival at HTO Park (August 23) This festival featuring Christian Smith, Jay Lumen, Miguel Campbell, Pig&Dan, and a few other DJs has just made its rounds on social media and people are buzzing about it. It’s the first we’ve seen of this festival, but the lineup is stacked and sure to not disappoint. Some techno on the beach is probably one of the best ways to spend a summer night. Solarstrone presents PURE TRANCE sunset cruise (September 7) Okay, we know it’s getting a little bit down to the wire here on our summer days but a sunset cruise run by Ozmozis Productions is not to be missed. Not only will you be listening to the sweet trance sounds of Solarstone, Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Gai Barone, but you’ll be doing it as you get to watch a slow scenic view of the entire city and the islands. The vibes on these cruises are nearly life changing as you meet new people, dance your heart out, and can even snag a high five with your favorite DJ. Whip out the Sperry’s you’ve been meaning to wear to the cottage and get to the dock! Get tickets:www.wantickets.com/wavesoftrance9
