For this edition of Dream Job Diary, we turn to the world of Youtube content creators. Meet Harjit Bhandal and Jaz Saini, the brains behind YouTwoTV.
Harjit and Jaz were both was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario. Harjit is a graduate of Harold Brathwaite Secondary School. With no post-secondary education, he used his love for film to start his own production company and shot everything from short films to weddings. Jaz has a diploma in Marketing and a certificate in Marketing Design Applications. She started her career as a Social Media Strategist both in and out of the entertainment industry, but knew she was meant to be on camera. When Harjit and Jaz aren’t trying to take over the world, they love playing Zelda, which endears both of them to me to no end.
YouTwoTV was created out of Jaz and Harjit’s passion for producing unique content and making people laugh. Since its official launch on February 8, 2016, the channel has garnered over 120 million views and 550,000 subscribers from all around the world. YouTwoTV provides weekly relatable and shareable content that touches on everything from relationships and education to work-related comedy. In conjunction with YouTwoTV, Harjit and Jaz also produce videos for their other channel YouTwoVlogs where viewers have a chance to get to follow their day to day lives and get to know the real duo as they freely express their opinions, likes and dislikes.
The Brampton born and raised pair have also become in-demand brand ambassadors and have partnered with major companies on several campaigns including Google Canada, Subway Canada, McDonald’s Canada, Bell Canada and Nestle Canada, among others. Most recently, Harjit and Jaz were recognized by the City of Brampton with the Citizens Awards Arts Acclaim Award. The award is given to those whose involvement in the arts have contributed to the community in a significant manner, or have had an impact in terms of achieving local, provincial, national or international acclaim. They have also been nominated for the Brampton Board of Trade’s Brampton Top 40 Under 40 award. The pair also recently won the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs “FAN FAVE MUCH CREATOR” award, and it’s no secret as to why.

Learn how these two created their dream jobs below!
How did you guys get into your current line of work?
Jaz – We kind of created this job ourselves. I was working in Social Media before this and just fell in love with the aspect of creating content and being an entertainer. YouTube was that outlet for me.
Harjit – My love for making videos came from a combination of my obsession with cameras and boredom. We both had full time jobs and were making vlogs separately but never took it too seriously until we started working together. That’s when YouTwoTV was born!
What was your first job ever?
J – My first job ever was at a fast food joint called Harveys. I lasted two months before realizing I hated my Manager, so I left to go work at a shoe store!
H – My first job was when I was 15 and it was in a tile factory. I was pretty much packing tiles for 12 hours a day… so much fun. haha
Before you got/created your dream job, what was the best job you had?
J – Before doing this, I was working for another YouTuber. I got to travel around the world, manage their social media channels and edit their videos while living out of a suitcase. It was difficult creating content for someone else, but I probably wouldn’t have realized my potential and love for YouTube if it wasn’t for that job.
H – Before YouTwoTV turned full-time, I had my own production company where we shot weddings, music videos, and concept films. Even though weddings would annoy me sometimes, it was definitely my favourite job.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
J – I can’t even imagine not being able to do this! Creating content is my life, if I wasn’t making it on YouTube I would probably making some other sort of content. I have a love for writing, maybe I’d be a writer!
H – I honestly have no idea. My life has been pretty random so far so it could be literally anything that interests me. I would probably still be shooting weddings though… until they annoyed me enough to try something else.
What accomplishment/achievement are you most proud of?
J – winning an Much Music Video Award! I’ve been watching the MMVA’s since I was a kid, so to be up on stage accepting our very own is a dream come true!
H – WE JUST WON AN MMVA! I literally have to scream that every time I say it. It’s still so unreal. Also, shout outs to Brampton for the Citizen’s Award. Getting an award from the city you were born and raised in is a feeling I can’t even explain.
