This week we are crushing on Danielle Duval.
Born in Montreal, now living in Toronto, Danielle has been on a musical mission for more than a decade now. Her debut EP, L’Étranger (2007), put her on the world’s musical radar with a core-shaking cover of “You’re the one that I want” from the Grease Soundtrack. The song landed on the Californication soundtrack, a feat that put her on the musical map both at home and abroad.
Danielle released her first full length album Of The Valley in 2011. Fully bilingual, Danielle writes and performs in both french and english, creating music that our entire country can fall in love with. Now she’s back with her sophomore release Lose It, released at the beginning of this year to critical acclaim.
Danielle will be rocking the Dakota Tavern stage tomorrow night (March 8th) for the video release party of her single “Whenever you want it”. Here’s the video to inspire you to attend. Details here, go, enjoy and get crushing!
What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?
The way they look at me.
What is your definition of romance?
Your heart jumps when they walk in the room.
What is your ideal first date/ what’s the best date you’ve ever been on?
I don’t date, never have, I go right for the jugular. All or nothing.
What’s your instant deal breaker?
If we fight in the first 30 days
What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?
The longer you stay with someone you’re not supposed to be with, the more you prolong finding the person you are.
What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?
Week 1: I broke into their apartment
If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?
Give it time. Have the patience, kindness, awareness, and compassion to stick it out; for the right reasons. People give up on good things too easily these days.
